We Are What We Eat, Drink, Think, and Practice

What is "Health"?  In the allopathic community it is commonly thought of as the absence of disease, many times correlating with "normal" blood tests.  A growing number of people are frustrated by the great amount of time, testing, and expense they have expended, only to find out that "they're fine".  They continue to go to the doctor, or many doctors, because they don't feel good, but discover, that maybe it's in their head and they just need to learn to relax or talk with a therapist.  Fatigue, aches and pains, bloating, waking feeling exhausted... the list goes on.
I believe that "health" is not merely an absence of disease, but also having  good digestion, healthy hormone balance, & optimal healthy functioning,  abundant energy,  and a positive outlook & sense of wellbeing. Our bodies are designed for health and healing.  However, we need to have the proper building blocks to maintain health.  We need to know how to think, eat, drink, rest, play, and exercise in a way that is in balance & alkalinizing to the body.
For those of us that are dealing with chronic illnesses, or have a collection of symptoms and just plain don't feel like we should, it begins with the consciousness that what we have been doing isn't getting us to where we want to be in our health.  We realize that we are just barely making it through the day and collapse into bed at night, only to wake unrested to start the process all over again.  The excitement and joy of living are gone, and we are on a conveyor belt and haven't been able to find the key to get off.  Well-meaning people bombard us with suggestions that drain our time, money, and patience, but don't help enough or at all.
Deciding to "Take On Your Health" is the first step to finding the way back to a vibrant, energetic, and healthier life.  Every adult is responsible for their own health choices.  What most don't realize is that the state of our health is many times a choice (basically the accumulation of many countless choices over time).  Sometimes these choices are lifestyle choices despite knowing what to do, usually though, good information was just not available and choices were made with the best of intentions. Our health needs to be our first concern, because our bodies are the tool that we use to engage life with; to work, play, worship, explore, and serve others.  Handing over your health to anyone to either maintain or regain is a dangerous practice.  Whether you see a mainstream doctor, a naturopath, health coach, or whomever, YOU need to be in charge and be invested in the process.  Educate yourself, ask questions, find out what your choices are, and decide what is best for you.  If you have been struggling with a chronic illness, ask yourself some unpleasant questions: Do I experience a "payoff" and if so, what is it?  How am I "benefiting" from my condition?  Am I ready to give it up yet? Can I commit to making the choices needed to regain radiant health?  Where can I find support for those lifestyle changes I need to make?  Who do I need to avoid telling what I am contemplating because they are not, or may not be, supportive?

Mission Statement

To listen to, support, educate, and empower my clients, and to provide them with quality information, care, and supplements when needed in order for them to have tools which they can use to improve the quality of their lives and achieve radiant health and a positive outlook.
The most important goals of my practice are to have each of my clients feel that they are getting a good value for their time, money, effort, and trust that they give me and to find the underlying needs and priorities that need to be addressed in order to achieve the goals that the client has expressed.

     OTHER GOALS:

I continue my training and studies in order to be able to provide the highest quality service.  It is important to me to be able to give information that is accurate and helpful.

I am always searching for the best products and am able to offer pharmecuetical grade supplements to my clients.  These are products that are performance driven (verses market and advertising driven) and used by doctors and alternative health providers with the training to use them properly to get real results.

It is also important to educate the client in the subjects of health, basic anatomy and physiology, and how to find good information.  The media is controlled by the pharmacuetical and big food industry advertising dollars.  They also tend to be somewhat lazy and merely report some of the story when it comes to studies released to the media.  (The reading of medical studies for accurate information needs to include more that the results that are in the abstract.  Questions need to be answered.  Who did the study? Who sponsored it or paid for it?  What were the methods used and did they follow the scientific method properly?  Were there good controls, and in the case of vitamin/mineral/health studies, were co-factors and life-style variables considered?)

It is important to have accurate data in order to make the best decisions while creating a health plan.  I continue to look for those tools and techniques that assist me in this goal.  I realize that it is important to keep costs down and do my best to keep affordablity in mind while choosing providers and vendors that help me do my job - helping YOU create wellness for yourself and family.
